COACH TOM DEMAIO TO FIELD ELITE RED BANDANAS TEAM TO HEAD BACK TO VAIL LACROSSE SHOOTOUT TO DEFEND THEIR 2016 CHAMPIONSHIP
Coach DeMaio fielding elite team for June 25-28 tournament
Last year Coach Tom DeMaio fielded a team of players from 10 different states to make up the “Red Bandanas” team that won the prestigious Vail Lacrosse ShootOut tournament in double overtime. This year TEAM12’s Coach DeMaio will again bring some of the most elite players from throughout the country to join the Red Bandanas team at the June 25-28 tournament.
Last year was the first year Coach DeMaio fielded a team for the Vail Lacrosse ShootOut. Coach DeMaio named his squad the Red Bandanas in honor of former Boston College lacrosse player and 9-11 victim Welles Crowther. Coach DeMaio and the team maintained contact with Welles mother Allison Crowther leading up to the event and throughout their historic 2OT win.

Born and raised in Boston, Coach Tom DeMaio wanted to honor the memory of Welles, and ensure that players would continue to carry on the selfless spirit that Welles embodied.
This year Coach DeMaio is accepting applications and video on players from throughout the country to join the Red Bandanas team and play for a cause that matters -- a cause that units the team in a way that would make Welles Crowther and his family proud.
Players interested in being considered for the Red Bandanas team should be committed to play lacrosse at a division 1 college need to reach out to Coach DeMaio at tdemaio@team12lax.com no later than April 30th, 2017.
